I just ate six cookies in one sitting. No big deal. My Asian metabolism will take care of it tomorrow. It turns out that the deliciously soft cookies I had from Café del Volcán were actually from Strictly Cookies, which sells cookies, cookie cakes, and ice cream cookie sammiches at various locations in Shanghai as well as delivery via online orders.

For Mid-Autumn Festival (which is the day before my birthday this year hint hint), Strictly Cookies is selling Mookies (Mooncake Cookies) by the dozen for RMB¥238 between September 9-18th, 2013. I got my piggy hands on these ahead of time (thank you Strictly Cookies)!

Each set contains a dozen cookies wrapped in a red box. Great for gifting or just to gorge on yourself (which is precisely what I am doing). Feel free to send me a box for my birthday in the name of Mid-Autumn Festival.

There are six flavors in each box and two cookies of each flavor:

• Chocolate chip exterior with brownie filling
• Sugar exterior with red bean filling
• Chocolate brownie exterior with caramel filing
• Chocolate exterior with peanut butter
• Peanut butter exterior with raspberry jam
• Purple potato exterior with white chocolate filling

My absolute favorite is the purple potato with white chocolate.

These cookies are soft out of the box but I like to heat these up in the microwave for just a few seconds to get them warm and gooey (watch your time, don’t overheat).

It’s a brownie stuffed inside a chocolate chip cookie. I don’t even have to tell you it was good. Very milk chocolate-y. Liked very much.

Chocolate brownie exterior with caramel filling
Soft, sweet, chewy, gooey, and all things my teeth hate but my second stomach (reserved for dessert) loves. Heat this and grab a glass of milk.

Sugar exterior with red bean filling
Smooth red bean in a simple sugar cookie. Liked.

Purple potato exterior with white chocolate filling (my favorite!)
I have a love affair with this cookie. It is one of the best cookies in life and I thank Strictly Cookies for bringing it into existence.

Chocolate exterior with peanut butter filling
I normally don’t like peanut butter but it was good enough that I still ate the whole thing. It’s like a Reese’s cup in cookie form.

Peanut butter exterior with raspberry jam filling
I don’t really like raspberries at all (especially combined with peanut butter O_O) so I only had a tiny taste of this. It’s not you, it’s me. I got my friend to taste this; she liked it and she said it tasted like peanut butter and jelly. This cookie and my mouth won’t be meeting again but peanut butter and raspberry lovers should like this.
