[New York] Momokawa
Even though I am Chinese, I avoid Chinese hotpot at all costs (Hai Di Lao is the bane of my existence). But Japanese hotpot seems to offer something a little different.
[New York] Wafels and Dinges
My friend never finds this truck when she wants dessert and always manages to spot it when she is not looking for it. We spotted it in SoHo on this day.
[New York] Robataya
Robataya is a Japanese restaurant that specializes in robatayaki/robata style cooking (“fireside cooking”). Most of the dishes on the menu are grilled fish, meat, and vegetables.
[New York] The Stanton Social
The food is not amazing but The Stanton Social is usually the safe place to bring friends who have varying tastes. Otherwise, I don’t have an overwhelming desire to come here. Each time we eat here, there are always dishes we like and dishes we regret getting.
[New York] Ippudo
I came here at 9pm on a Friday: 2 hour wait. Nope. I came here at 2pm on a Sunday: 1.5 hour wait. Nope. I came here at 11pm on a Tuesday: praise Buddha no wait. Finally.
[New York] Wasan
This. place. has. the. slowest. service. ever, which is negligible if the food was worth waiting for. But it wasn’t.
[New York] Momofuku Milk Bar
I had to restrain myself from going twice in one day. I did go twice in two days though.
