[Shanghai] Dashu Wujie 大蔬无界
Dashu Wujie 大蔬无界, also known as Greenology, is a vegetarian restaurant with two branches in Xujiahui and on the Bund, and a third branch opening the last week of December at the SWFC. As a devout carnivore with a lifelong affinity for meat, I will admit I found some of the dishes to be pretty good.
[Shanghai] Maison Asano 浅野府
Good sushi is as rare as clear and pollution-free days in Shanghai. If you are also a member of I-can’t-find-good-sushi-in-Shanghai-club, you can remove yourself from the club because good sushi is here. Maison Asano, or House of Asano, is a reservation-only Japanese restaurant serving omakase dinners on Julu Road.
[Shanghai] A Very Madison Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving: a longstanding tradition of homecooked meals. Well, ain’t nobody got time to cook at home when we don’t have the day off in China. This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for Austin Hu for enabling us to have a most scrumptious Madison turkey feast at home.
[Shanghai] Scarpetta
Scarpetta exceeded my already high expectations considering how many friends had recommended it to me. Like you think you are going to a Jay Chou concert and then Jacky Cheung shows up, too.
[Shanghai] Shanghai Tang Cafe 上海滩
Part of the Xintiandi Work Lunch Series: 25% off select dishes during weekday lunch. Shanghai Tang is a clothing brand but the Xintiandi branch has a restaurant extension. The food is quite good and not nearly as expensive as the clothes.
[Shanghai] Chefs in the City – November 2013
First off, let me just inform you that the restrooms at 10 Corso Como use fully automated Toto toilets. I encourage you to experience it. Now that we have gotten that out of the way, 10 Corso Como hosted a superb installment of Chefs in the City on November 7, 2013.
[Shanghai] Franck
My friend and I had a pleasant dinner at Franck located at Ferguson Lane. I like Franck but it is expensive. For French food, I prefer Le Saleya’s offerings and price points but Franck is nice to splurge at every once in awhile. I recommend this place for client dinners and expensive dates (holla).
[Shanghai] How to Thanksgiving in Shanghai
Hello fellow Americans (or just anyone who likes Turkey)! Thanksgiving is around the corner and we will be celebrating from the other side of the world. Here is a list of dine in and turkey to go options in Shanghai!
[Shanghai] Home Thai
Part of the Xintiandi Work Lunch Series: RMB¥50 entrees and option to add drink, small soup, and side dishes for RMB¥8
[Shanghai] The House of Roosevelt
The House of Roosevelt at Bund 27 is top to bottom food and drink with the Sky Bar (9F), Sky Restaurant (8F), The Roosevelt Club (3F), and Wine Cellar Restaurant (2F). On this occasion, we enjoyed a late night dinner at the Sky Restaurant and afterparty at the Sky Bar to celebrate a trio of October birthdays. Happy birthday all!
