Total bill: HKD$32 for two macarons (HKD$16 each)

My friend’s office is located in the IFC so I found some macarons to occupy myself with while I waited for him to get off work. I was delighted to see they had Earl Grey macarons. They definitely had the Earl Grey flavor down but the macaron itself wasn’t anything special. I thought it was kind of strange that they used chocolate ganache for the filling since you wouldn’t put chocolate in your tea; perhaps a milky cream filling would have been better. The Vanille Madagascar was just average. Overall, these macarons were just alright–not bad, but not memorable. I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to get these again.
They also serve an afternoon tea set here but honestly the way this shop is set up, it reminds me of a food court. This shop isn’t on the rooftop of the IFC; you will be sipping on your afternoon tea with a view of the TAG Heuer store and the escalator. Not exactly prime real estate over here.
Be patient and wait for the Pierre Hermé to open at IFC instead (May/June 2013).
