Champagne on a Monday, why not? Because we (and Coquille) said so. Mondays at Coquille mean RMB¥600 select bottles of champagne and 30% off oysters. As if I need yet another reason to come here. If this doesn’t mitigate the fact that it is Monday again (even by just a little bit), then you were already beyond saving. For everyone else, a plate of oysters and some champagne every Monday? Don’t mind if I do.

A bottle of Champagne Duchêne Florence to share between the two of us. My friend noticed the servers only poured a little bit of champagne into our glasses each time, which is the way it should be done. By pouring just a small amount, the drinker will finish the champagne before it gets cold. It means more work for the servers (who are on top of their game) and a better champagne experience for the guests.
Today’s selection of oysters included Tsarskaya, Black Pearl, Gillardeau, Coffin Bay, and La Ronce. We tried all of them and both gravitated toward the creamy, medium-sized ones. Quality.
