Chef Michael and business partner Fanny of Cuivre have opened a casual burger and fries eatery in the space attached to Cuivre. Easy access for those living in Ambassy Court. I am thankful I don’t live in this complex or else I would have a perpetual belly going between Cuivre and CU2+.
There is a good variety of burger toppings here and there are multiple burgers I usually debate over. The first time I came to this place, I was supposed to share with my companion because we both wanted to try different burgers but I only ate 1/3 of my burger while he ate his own burger and 2/3 of my burger. I can’t even.
Paintings on the wall tell the story of how Michael and Fanny met and became business partners. Michael explained this to me but I forgot and I really can’t read French. I am a bad customer, I know.
Burgers come in paper boxes sealed with a cute sticker of Michael that unfold to become plates.
The beef burgers (named after Michael) are made from Australian beef and they are cooked medium by default but you can ask the kitchen to cook it more or less depending on your preference. I always like to take the chef’s recommendation. Hainan chicken and Dongbei black pig burgers (named after Fanny) are available as alternatives to Australian beef. I tried the Fannydelamaniana hanbaobao (RMB¥88) with spicy black pig meat ball, Beijing mayo, arugula, emmental cheese on different visit and it was delicious. You can also build your own hanbaobao (RMB¥128) and load up on what you like.
Mikeonthebike burger hanbaobao (RMB¥108) with beef, truffle mayo, oignon confit, romaine lettuce, jus de viande, brie cheese
Recommend: yes
Truffle mayo, brie, and oignon confit (which is French onion marmalade) are the highlights of this burger. Pile on the truffle mayo.
Limited edition: Mikeinbkk hanbaobao (RMB¥98) with beef, mayo sriracha, coriander, cucumber, mozza cheese.
Recommend: yes
Sriracha and coriander are the hooks for this burger, delivering a more Asian flair to my bottomless tummy.
Now the other equally essential part of this meal: fries. A la carte fries are RMB¥18 for Frenchy French fries + sweet chili mayo and RMB¥28 for Truffle French fries + mayo. If you are already getting a burger, there is an option to tact on choice of potato + soft drink for RMB¥18, which is essentially adding a soft drink for free and giving a discount if you are getting truffle fries. Yes, please! Truffle fries are my kryptonite and these certainly make me slump into a daze afterwards.
[…] this block that he and business partner Fanny Cervera have taken over. Next door is recent addition CU2+ Confidential, a casual burger and drinks place. Upstairs is T for Thai, needless to say, a Thai […]
Woah the truffle fries were good! Burger was also good, but a tad too much mayo/sauce for my taste. Next time I will ask for a little less of that.
Happy to hear you enjoyed! I dream about CU2+ truffle fries… every day. I love mayo so I like to have a lot on my burger!
[…] With that said, there is a buy-one-get-one burger deal on Tuesdays so I think that is probably the only time I would come back to give a different burger a try. Aside from a discounted deal, I don’t really have any reason to choose Rachel’s over Beef & Liberty or CU2+. […]
