Following the footsteps of its Boxing Cat Brewery sibling, Liquid Laundry has started hosting Brewmaster’s dinners. The Brewmaster’s dinner offers a set menu with each course paired with a beer, some of which are Liquid Laundry/Boxing Cat exclusive. It is like a beer tasting paired with food they would go well with.
I came mostly for the food as many dishes were special off-menu items with appearances by one or two menu staples. I am not big on beer but no harm in trying; the guys at the table really enjoyed the beer and even helped me finish most of mine. Definitely worth checking out the next event if you enjoy beer as much as I enjoy wine.
Some nights, there is a DJ. This one is Dave Lin from TICT Creative.
Course 1: hamachi tartare with yuzu aioli, avocado; paired with Cucumber Saison.
This is where I start accumulating beer.
Course 2: charcuterie board with fromage de tete, truffled terrine de foie gras, jamon cru, cornichons, mostarda; paired with Miami Weiss.
There is a beer paring with each course but I did not drink fast enough so I end up with 4 beers at the same time.
Course 3: crawfish and chicken sausage jambalaya; paired with Workday IPA.
Course 4: tongue ‘n’ cheek raviolis, nitro red ale reduction, kale, caramelized shallow, tomato confit; paired with Nitro Hong Bao Red Ale.
Dessert: sesame pannacotta, dark chocolate, sea salt rice crispy, matcha barley wine reduction; paired with Bare Knuckle Barleywine.
