The Union Trading Company is known for its mean drinks by Yao Lu and fat-astic American food by Austin Hu. You can enjoy both for a great price during happy hour (Sunday-Thursday 6-8pm): RMB50 each!

Old Fashioned and Aperol Spritz

Spaghetti meatballs (RMB98) grandma didn’t make this for us growing up, but even if she did, it would still be better than hers

There are a lot of fancy Italian places in Shanghai and while everyone knows I love my truffle-ridden pastas and pizzas, I have been looking for spaghetti and meatballs since I got to Shanghai. This is it — the one — my spaghetti and meatballs prayer has been answered. Al dente spaghetti and loads of meatballs in a hearty and slightly cheesy tomato sauce.
Union Trading Company burger (RMB88) it may be wagyu, it may have a homemade bun, it may even be topped with our own smoked bacon, at the end of the day it’s just a legit burger, and yes, it comes with fries

I love a good burger and as far as a classic bacon cheeseburger goes, this is the best in Shanghai. Thick yet soft beef patty oozing with flavor and good old American cheese nestled between the softest buns.
Double brown note (RMB58) chocolate mousse so good, you may $hit your pants

The description is a bit disturbing; this tastes less like a mouse and more like American cup pudding if you like those. Break the pretzel into pieces and mix into the pudding for a sweet and salty combination.
