Alright, it’s Element Fresh and everyone knows what it is. There is a Vintage Element Fresh in Xintiandi and it offers overpriced salads and sandwiches like all the other branches. There is also one inside K11 nearby. Or delivery if you want to eat at your desk. This is my and my coworker’s feeble attempt to eat healthy.
Verdict: large portions, quick service, but clearly overpriced.
Chilean beef salad (RMB¥98) with grilled beef tenderloin, hearts of palm, avocado, tomato, cilantro, and sliced onion in olive oil and fresh lemon juice with a side of avocado ranch
Recommend: yes
Element Fresh salads are all pretty big although that still doesn’t justify paying RMB¥100 for them. This salad has a hearty portion of beef and a mix of decent vegetables (I must admit the avocados reeled me in).
I find myself eating Element Fresh sandwiches and salads for at least 3 meals per week — mainly because I trust the ingredients and it’s just so easy to order and have it delivered. Do you know of other options (besides say Wagas) for healthy sandwiches and salads in Jing An / French Concession area? Portions do not need to be so big. Thanks.
