I love to visit 席作 Xi Zuo in Xintiandi when I am back in Shanghai for well made Chinese food (with excellent service too)! The steamed fish with fermented black bean, scallion, ginger, and soy sauce is still the best - each piece free of bones with an even amount of garnish. The key is to take the leftover sauce and drown some rice in it. I love Chinese food and the breadth and depth of the cuisine so I made sure I had it all week long during my Shanghai trip. I dined at a superb Ningbo restaurant called Yong Jiang Chun 甬江春 in Xintiandi with delicately and skillfully prepared dishes using ingredients like yellow croaker and pigeon that just don’t taste the same outside of China. Really fun bistro-style wine bar @mutin_bar in Hannam! This place has been on my list to try for awhile from stalking @imjustjokim’s food posts and it was GOOD! All the bites we had were yummy and came with super friendly chef @alexhongs and staff! The somm was also very good at recommending wines in layman terms 👍.
